Two motorcycle police officers suffered non-life-threatening injuries in an automobile accident involving a small grey car. The incident occurred when the officers were attempting to merge onto the on-ramp of an interstate when the small grey car driving at a high rate of speed entered through the exit ramp and collided with them and almost ran over them. The officers made attempts to avoid colliding with the vehicle but were unable to do so. Both officers had their emergency lights on and were both wearing helmets at the time of the wreck.

They were transported to a medical facility for diagnosis of their injuries and treatment. The driver in the grey car – possibly a Honda Civic – fled the scene of the accident and police are looking for any witnesses to the wreck to get more information.

Entering and exiting the highway could be potentially dangerous for several reasons. When entering the highway, it is often difficult to tell when it is clear to move out of the entrance lane and completely merge into the highway. If a vehicle is approaching at a high rate of speed, it could very easily cause a serious accident for all parties involved and if the driver is moving fast enough, it could create a domino effect and the initial collision could force a secondary one injuring more people in the process. Exiting the highway is equally as dangerous because you have to consider the approaching vehicles when merging out of the highway just like you would when entering.

People make mistakes on the roadway all the time and there have been several accidents that have occurred resulting from a person not obeying the traffic signs on the side of the roadway or missing the signs altogether and making a wrong turn or crossing into oncoming traffic. At every entrance and exit there are signs that clearly mark those entrances and exits. Unfortunately, as this incident demonstrates, people still miss those signs and serious collisions do occur injuring one or more people. In this incident and others, it is possible that one of the parties involved could be held responsible for the wreck, especially if they are operating the vehicle at a high rate of speed as in this case. If you or someone you know are injured in this type of highway automobile accident, an attorney can provide information for you to get compensation for your injuries and damages.

A New Mexico state street sweeper was involved in an automobile accident with a police vehicle while he was cleaning up debris from a previous automobile accident. The driver of the street sweeper was reportedly inebriated at the time of the crash. After administering a breathalyzer test, police found the driver of the street sweeper had a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit. The man reportedly told police that he had been drinking the night before coming into work. Authorities said the man backed up into the police vehicle twice but had no idea and the same police vehicle chased the man the man in his vehicle. New Mexico’s department of transportation will place the man on administrative leave after being charged with drunk driving

This incident demonstrates that there should be more strict policies on state and city employees with regard to personal and public safety issues. This incident could have been much worse if the police officer involved in the wreck had been seriously injured or killed or if the driver of the street sweeper had injured or killed another person. Authorities said the driver completely missed the debris from the previous wreck he was supposed to clean up. This demonstrates that his driving was most likely erratic or otherwise uncontrolled and if that is the case, he could have easily injured a pedestrian if they had been walking nearby. Improving and applying stricter policies to aid in public and personal safety while on the job could possibly be a major step forward in preventing this type of automobile accident in the future.

The fact that the driver had no idea he had even struck the police vehicle twice poses another significant danger regarding alcohol consumption prior to state or city work where public health and safety are at risk. If the driver was unable to tell that he had struck a large vehicle, the chances are fairly high that he would not have known that he struck a pedestrian walking through the streets or struck the police officer had he been on foot. This incident demonstrates that there are always dangerous situations to look out for throughout any city and it is extremely important to be on the lookout for drivers that may be swerving or otherwise driving erratically to avoid injury.

An automobile accident involving a 27-year-old man resulted in the death of his 15-month-old son. The incident originally occurred after the 27-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle and swerved into a median in the roadway. The vehicle then rolled over and sideswiped a bridge before coming to a stop. Police have not determined the cause of death for the 15-month-old baby who was in a child safety seat in the back of the car when the crash occurred.

The 27-year-old driver was not injured in the wreck and there have been no charges filed in connection with the accident. Police are continuing to investigate the crash to determine how it happened and what the cause of death was.

There is a number of things that could have happened that caused the 27-year-old man to lose control of his vehicle. In New York the roadways are susceptible to the elements because of frequent cold weather, especially in the late-night hours when this incident occurred. There is no way to know for sure what caused the 15-month-old boy’s death in this wreck until police complete their investigation. If the investigation shows that another person was involved in the wreck or played a role in the wreck in some way, that person might be held accountable for the boy’s death in the accident. There is also a chance that no charges will be filed in connection with the wreck if police do not find enough evidence to support that theory.

High speeds are one factor that could have played a part in this wreck. Police did not reveal whether the man was operating his vehicle at a high rate of speed but if that was the case, that could have been the sole factor that contributed to the boy’s death. Regardless of what the investigation reveals, the most tragic part of this incident is the fact that a 27-year-old man has to face the tragic loss of his 15-month-old son in an automobile accident that may or may not have been preventable. There is nothing that can be done to help that man cope with the loss of his son in any way.

Patrick Dempsey, who plays a doctor on the TV series “Grey’s Anatomy”, played a real life action hero in April when he pulled a teenage boy to safety after the teen’s car flipped over near Dempsey’s Malibu, California home. Dempsey grabbed a crowbar and fire extinguisher to pry the 17 year old boy from his car.

The driver, Weston Masset, told ABC News that after he lost control of his Mustang, the car rolled over three times, trapping him and leaving him barely conscious. “I was scared for my life. I was upside down.”

After rescuing Masset, Dempsey then called paramedics and stayed by the teen’s side until help arrived. Masset was airlifted to a hospital where he was treated for a concussion and an eye injury. He is expected to make a full recovery.

When Masset saw TV’s Dr. Derek Shepherd standing before him, he asked, “Are you famous?” Dempsey replied, “Yeah, I’m a doctor.”

Masset’s mother, Mary Beth Masset, stated that when Dempsey called her to inform her of her son’s car accident, “He had a certain authority in his voice. I asked if he was a paramedic and he said, ‘No, this is Patrick Dempsey’. I thought, McDreamy?” McDreamy is Mr. Dempsey’s nickname on Grey’s Anatomy.

Crash victim Weston Masset added, “I’m just really happy that he was there for me. Things could have been a lot worse if he didn’t save me as soon as he did.”

If you or a loved one has been injured in a car accident, seeking the counsel of an experienced personal injury lawyer is advised.

A 50-year-old man was sent to jail after police discovered he tried to cover up his 23-year-old son’s drunken driving auto accident for six days. The incident originally occurred when the 23-year-old man was driving with a friend when the Ford Fiesta overturned. The man’s friend suffered a broken back, broken ribs and a collapsed lung. The automobile accident left him paralyzed for the rest of his life. Following the accident, the 50-year-old man allowed his son to get away from the scene and told police he was the one involved instead of his son.

As a result, the 50-year-old man was given six months in jail and the 23-year-old man was given just over a year and a half in jail. Police later discovered the 23-year-old had been drinking before the accident occurred. A breathalyzer later revealed he was two to three times over the legal limit.

Everyone always feels the need to protect their loved ones in one way or another but when a person commits a crime or causes a serious accident as in this incident, the last thing anybody should do is cover it up to protect them. Obstructing justice will not only affect those the perpetrator is trying to protect but it will affect them as well. This incident demonstrates that committing obstruction is punishable with jail time and the worse the incident is, the worse the punishment could be. As a result of the 23-year-old’s actions driving after drinking over the legal limit, the person he was with suffered extremely serious injuries that left him permanently paralyzed.

The 23-year-old man is also very lucky that he did not suffer equally serious injuries because the vehicle he was driving rolled over. Even when a person is wearing their seatbelt there is always a chance that they could suffer serious injuries either because of the speed they are driving or the impact of the vehicle involved in the wreck. His father’s actions trying to cover up his sons involvement could have proven to be dangerous for his son if he had suffered significant injuries in the wreck like his friend did.
